Women in summer dresses at the Dutch Cocoa House, one of the pavilions at the Glasgow International Exhibition of 1888.

Lavery was the exhibition's unofficial painter and produced around fifty pictures of it. The show ran for six months in Kelvingrove Park, drew nearly six million visitors, and its profits paid for the art gallery that stands there now. This is the moment his career turned.

The original hangs in the Scottish National Gallery.
