Spring Idyll by E. A. Hornel Art Print
£34.00
Blossom, children and a wood packed edge to edge, with no way out and no horizon. E. A. Hornel painted spring in Galloway again and again, and never more densely than here.
There is no distance in the picture at all. Hornel presses the whole scene up against the surface so that the paint itself becomes the subject, which is exactly what his Glasgow critics complained about.
A century later it is why the pictures still look modern.
Printed to order on heavyweight archival paper with a narrow white border that keeps the painting's own proportions. Framed in black, wood or white, or unframed for your own frame. Shipped worldwide.
