Loch Awe running twenty-five miles down through Argyll, with Kilchurn Castle on its spit at the north end — the longest freshwater loch in Scotland, painted by Alexander Nasmyth.

Nasmyth came to the Highlands as a landscape painter at exactly the moment the rest of Britain decided the Highlands were worth looking at. He trained under Allan Ramsay in London, ran a busy Edinburgh studio, and is conventionally credited as the founder of the Scottish landscape tradition that McCulloch and McTaggart inherited.

Printed to order on heavyweight archival paper with a narrow white border that keeps the painting's own proportions. Framed in black, wood or white, or unframed for your own frame. Shipped worldwide.
