Idyll in Spring by E. A. Hornel Art Print
£32.00
Spring in Galloway, painted at the moment the woods turn from bare to impossible. E. A. Hornel returned to this subject for most of his working life.
There is no horizon and very little sky. Hornel fills the whole canvas with foreground so that the eye has nowhere to escape to, which is what makes the colour hit as hard as it does.
He was one of the Glasgow Boys who never left the south-west of Scotland, and the country he painted is still recognisable.
Printed to order on heavyweight archival paper with a narrow white border that keeps the painting's own proportions. Framed in black, wood or white, or unframed for your own frame. Shipped worldwide.
