Evening, Finzean by Joseph Farquharson Art Print
£48.00
Sheep in snow at last light on the Finzean estate in Aberdeenshire — the subject Joseph Farquharson painted so relentlessly that he was nicknamed Frozen Mutton Farquharson.
He owned the place. Farquharson was laird of Finzean and showed a snow scene at the Royal Academy almost every year from 1894 to 1925. To paint outdoors through an Aberdeenshire winter he built himself a hut on wheels with a stove and a large window, and used model sheep as props when the real ones would not stand still.
Printed to order on heavyweight archival paper with a narrow white border that keeps the painting's own proportions. Framed in black, wood or white, or unframed for your own frame. Shipped worldwide.
