Pink roses in a blue and white Chinese vase, set against a background that is barely a background at all — S. J. Peploe letting colour do the whole job.
The vase is one of the objects from his props cupboard, and it turns up again and again across thirty years of still lifes. He would set the same few things down in a new arrangement and paint them as though he had never seen them before.
Printed to order on heavyweight archival paper with a narrow white border that keeps the painting's own proportions. Framed in black, wood or white, or unframed for your own frame. Shipped worldwide.
